Alligator mating season begins

It’s alligator mating season, which means Florida’s state reptiles will likely be more active and may have more interactions with humans.

GAINESVILLE, Fla.-Final approval of around-the-clockalligatorhunting is set to go before theFloridaFish andWildlifeConservation Commission when it meets next month in Gainesville.

Alligator hunting rules are part of the agenda on the first day of the two-day meeting, which will start May 3. The commission previously gave support to the hunting change on March 2.
