The victim in an accidental shooting during a hunting incident near Okotoks 16 months ago was completely blinded, a nearly $5-million lawsuit says.

The lawsuit, filed on behalf of Okotoks resident Chris Rusk, said he suffered multiple, life-altering injuries after being struck in the face with buckshot.

The claim, against Calgarian Viktor Safronov, alleges the defendant was negligent in discharging his firearm and striking Rusk.
