Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue will attempt to allay fears about a shortage of turkeys this Christmas as the country works to contain bird flu.

He will update his Cabinet colleagues on Tuesday morning on the bird flu outbreak in Ireland.

Fears are growing within industry and Government that the supply of turkeys in the run-up to Christmas could be impacted.

However, Minister McConalogue will move to allay fears this morning.
