Harry Whittington, the prominentTexaslawyer who was shot in the face byDick Cheneyand then infamously apologised to the then-vice president for the accident, has died at the age of 95.

He passed away peacefully at home early on Saturday morning, his wife Mercedes Baker confirmed toThe New York Times.
