Vermont Wolf Patrol met artist/activist Laurie Brooks while investigating suspected illegal trapping by a trapper employed by the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) to kill the beavers along a hiking trail in southern Vermont that borders Laurie’s farm. VTrans spends hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to address beaver conflicts, mostly blocked culverts that threaten to flood roads.
