- On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, Raoul Brown pleaded guilty to felony Involuntary Manslaughter in Clearwater County after he shot and killed 38-year-old Lanae Tackely during a hunting incident in October of last year.
- According to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and medical crews responded to the area of South Dicks Creek and Teakean Butte at approximately 4:14 p.m. on October 15 after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found 38-year-old Lanae A. Tackely on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.
- According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Big Country News Connection, Brown told deputies on scene that he had been attempting to shoot an elk when Tackely allegedly walked in front of the rifle.
