Sadly, I suspect it was human-caused, as most of the violent and destructive activities on this planet are.
I hope the ” mainstream” media actually participates in journalism and reports what is really going on instead of watering-down everything for the majority of their shallow-thinking and entertainment- minded audience,

And I read that the drought- stricken invasive grasses introduced to Maui by the “cattle ”
ranchers helped to fuel this nightmare.
Similiar to the situation in Arizona where buffelgrass was planted for ” grazing” and causes brushfires to turn into conflagrations.🥺
