Plastic and waste are strangling living beings on this planet( land and sea) and the right-wingers can only whine about a ” nanny-state” when even any miniscule legislation is proposed to diminish its use.
They even have tantrums about stores who no longer use plastic bags at the checkout.
It’s the one thing that I really get upset about, the people never consider the effects of any kind of our ‘improvements’ and materials – that plastic would get out in the environment and consumed by wildlife, or microbeads for something as meaningless as a facial cleanser would get though water supply filters, and I can only imagine what’s next for any of our bright ideas.
