Vote to Protect the Right to Fish & Hunt in the Sunshine State

October 15, 2024

Vote “Yes” on Amendment 2

As we all know, animal rights extremists are working tirelessly to cancel fishing and hunting, including in Florida. This makes the 2024 General Election critical for sportsmen and women, who must stand up for what we believe in and have our voices heard.

The general election is less than a month away, and early voting starts as early as October 21 in some counties. Early voting information can be found HERE.

The language of Amendment 2 reads as follows:

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

ARTICLE I, SECTION 28

RIGHT TO FISH AND HUNT—Proposing an amendment to the State Constitution to preserve forever fishing and hunting, including by the use of traditional methods, as a public right and preferred means of responsibly managing and controlling fish and wildlife. Specifies that the amendment does not limit the authority granted to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission under Section 9 of Article IV of the State Constitution.

Don’t forget to share this message with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen. The State needs all registered voters to vote “Yes” on Amendment 2 to protect the Sunshine State’s right to fish and hunt in perpetuity.

  1. Vote “no” on the amendment. Hunters managing wildlife is mismanagement and a distortion in wildlife ecology penalizing predators and marginalizing them in the natural balanced management of wildlife ecology. Hunters are stubbornly ignorant about balanced wildlife ecology and self serving in wildlife management. They do not manage wildlife for biodiversity and balance. They do not manage populations for biodiversity but for themselves hoping to overpopulate their favorite killing targets. Their management results in more wildlife-human conflict not less. With their tendency to trophy hunt for the biggest racks and animal sizes they hurt rather help the health of the herds. Natural management works. Leave the predators alone and let the predator populations increase. They should not be managing wildlife at all much less getting enshrined in state constitutions as the preferred management. The only extremism is hunter management and self-deluded expertise.

  2. Hunters and their state agencies in charge of wildlife management!? Have you ever talked to these guys? They are dumber than a pile of rocks and 100% self-deluded with their hunting mythology. They do not manage wildlife populations. They distort wildlife balanced ecology and biodiversity marginalizing the predators and trying to farm ungulates. They do not prevent wildlife conflict with humans, they cause it by disrupting families and leaving juveniles insufficiently trained to make it on their own. They do not kill for food, they kill for the thrill of killing, food if they want it is a bonus. Hunting is based on the North American Model of Wildlife Management hunter focused and consumption. Leaving hunters to manage wildlife is leaving the killers of wildlife in charge.
