Hunting mountain lions and other predators should be reduced to zero. Predators will manage their populations within parameters of available habitat, prey, and predator elbow room. They are the natural managers of wildlife populations. Hunters (sport and trophy) are completely unnatural and distort ecology with their emphasis on minimizing predators and farming ungulates or other target species. Hunters often say they are conservationists (not) engaging population controls (not), preventing human-wildlife conflict (not so), framing hunting as fair chase (not so), sporting (not so). Wildlife ecology can do without hunter conservation, a pastime of the stubbornly ignorant sadistic barbarian.
