INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) — Bobcat trapping season will officially go into effect this fall.
The decision comes after the Indiana Natural Resource Commission signed off to allow regulated trapping.
The approved season will extend to 40 counties in southern Indiana.
This includes a limit of one bobcat per trapper and a season quota of 250 bobcats.
Bobcats are Indiana’s only native wild cat.
They were endangered at one point for more than 50 years before being removed from the endangered list in 2005.
