I live in Italy, yesterday it was the horrific day in which hunters are legally allowed to go wherever they want and shoot to whoever they want. I waited for one word (one!) against hunting, this Pope chose a name that is particularly dear to animal lovers. While I was listening to his speech against war, I hoped to listen something about another war…a war with thousand victims. Nothing. Despite our letters, he never uttered a word regarding God’s creatures. S. Francis was vegetarian and called animals “little brothers”, the Pope simply doesn’t care
I am no longer a practicing Catholic, because this is one of the many reasons, they fall short of their words and their title, basically all I see them as, is religious politicians !!!!!
neither me Nancy, I can’t suffer hypocrisy. Unfortunately Italy is a catholic country (despite our Constitution) but forget the most important part of every religion (in theory): respect.

I’m not surprised; non-humans don’t rate high with most churches, since they don’t have a soul to save or money for the collection plate.
