A big beautiful absolutely gorgeous coyote was in the feral habitat as I stepped out in my bathrobe just now-having my cup of coffee. I saw a swift movement to my right. Within moments the coyote was in the pampas grass yard. I called to him and he stopped and we stared at each other. My heart sings. He is so beautiful.
The habitat has taken some huge hits since Saturday. I now have only two chicken friends instead of six. One feral cat was in leftover pieces under the willow. The wild had dined well. I guessed it was coyote. But possibly cougar. But this morning confirmed that it was coyote. He was rusty dusty umber amber coat. Very large. I was a little fightened. Can’t help it. I would have been more frightened if I was in the back and saw this wild animal. But I love him. How exciting. He was bold too. The sun was up.
