(CNN) — Comedian Jay Leggett, who produced a documentary about the joys of deer hunting, died of natural causes at the end of a deer hunt Saturday.
Leggett, 50, collapsed and died next to his all-terrain vehicle at the end of a hunt on the first day of gun deer season in his native Tomahawk, Wisconsin, according to Lincoln County sheriff’s spokesman Mike Caylor. A deer that Leggett had killed was strapped to the ATV.
Leggett’s 2011 film “To the Hunt: Deer Season in Tomahawk, Wisconsin” documented deer camp life and “the fun, family and fraternity of the hunt,” according to promotional materials.
“The victim had returned to the cabin from his deer stand on an ATV,” the sheriff’s statement said. “When he got off the machine he collapsed and was found unresponsive by family members who immediately started CPR.” […to no avail.]

shame……maybe his soul can apologise to the soul of the innocent deer he murdered eh….
They’re in two completely different places now.
victim? I hardly think of Leggett as the victim. the poor dead deer tied to the atv is the victim.
Indeed.
O DEER,, I MEAN O DEAR,, WHAT A PITY IT DID’NT HAPPEN BEFORE HE KILLED THE DEER..
Karma must have been busy with some other hunter and, sadly, didn’t get to him in time.
I feel more compassion for a dead fictional cartoon DOG than I do for a fat slob who promotes the murder of innocent animals.
Happy Tofurkey Thanksgiving everyone! π
That’s funny, now that you mention it, so do I.
Ha-Ha!
I never heard of Leggett. He is quite unwholesome looking. Seems that a vegan karma burger finally got him. Too bad about the deer.
Me neither, I have no idea what he does (or did, rather), but I can’t imagine a hunter/hunting proponent being very funny (except to look at). Too bad karma waited until after he’d killed another deer.
I’ve already cooked the Tofurkey-stuffed with herb wild rice. For dessert there is vegan pumpkin pie and vegan chocolate cake. And not to forget the waldorf of raw pecans and grapes and apple and celery with a stir of vegan mayo. A dainty glass of Merlot of course and gourmet coffee sabor a chocolate. Dinner served all week.
Yyyyy-um! What time should I arrive? π
Man, I wish someone would cook me a vegan Thanksgiving dinner. I’m the one that does all the cooking.
What’s on your menu this Thursday?
Field Roast en Croute, vegan stuffing, vegan gravy. steamed Buttercup Squash. Roasted potatoes and vegan pumpkin pie with canned coconut milk whipped *cream”.
And you?
Sounds great! I love Field Roast, but what is en Croate? This year, my wife is making Torfurkey roast with homemade bread dressing, mashed potatoes and our own hand-picked Chanterelle mushroom gravy, green beans with ginger and sesame, Waldorf salad with brother Ray’s organic apples, dates and sister Gloria’s organic pecans. For dessert (as it’s my birthday week) a chocolate pudding cake with vanilla soy ice cream.
en Croate (en kroot) means wrapped in pastry dough.
Wow! Your menu sounds fabulous.
OH and Buon Compleanno! (Happy Birthday in Italian).

I saw cartoon and thought you would enjoy it.

I started cooking on Sunday and the food is there until it runs out. I am eating my vegan pumpkin pie for breakfast. Coconut whipped cream sounds good-do not think it is available here but I will look. No field roast here either. Tofurky just appeared for the first time in one of the stores.
This is how you make coconut whipped *cream*. It’s so easy, a cave man could do it. π

Sounds like a great week!
All these recipes sound absolutely wonderful I just do not understand how meat eaters just do not see it.
I completely agree.
Thanks for the coconut whipped cream recipe. We have coconut milk in the stores but I doubt if I can track down a vanilla bean. I live in the hinterlands outside Las Vegas. Would regular vanilla extract suffice?
absolutely. π
They want “real” food.
Another hunter that claims he “always eats what he kills,” but doesn’t.
Also, isn’t it unusual to mount a deer stand on an ATV?
Hope Captain Watson hears about this. Nimrod meets his victim in the afterlife.
