New Michigan group seeks to protect future wolf hunts with citizen-initiated legislation
LANSING, MI — With Michigan’s first-ever wolf hunt well underway, a new coalition of conservationists and sportsmen is seeking to protect future hunts from a planned voter referendum.
A group calling itself Citizens for Professional Wildlife Management on Tuesday announced plans to launch a petition drive for citizen-initiated legislation that would affirm the Michigan Natural Resource Commissions’ ability to designate game species and issue fisheries orders.

Right, don’t believe a word of it! Words like “Conservation” “responsible” or “scientific” are all lies.
The state wildlife agencies of the wolf massacre states are in league with hunters and trappers, a small minority of any state, going against the general populace values, use of public lands, and protection of wildlife, especially the wolves and other predators. What is needed is a citizen referendum to disband those existing wildlife agencies and re-constitute them along the lines of wildlife ecology as primary, wildlife viewing, and no inalienable right to kill wildlife, and no super-ordinate control by hunters and trappers. There is no conservation, science behind the killing of wolves, lions and bears by these groups. The wildlife agencies personnel are just rednecks in uniforms.
What we are seeing in the wolf massacre states is the frantic death throes of hunter throwbacks afraid that they are going to lose their “hunting rights” and gun rights, and way of life rights; so they are trying at the state and federal levels to enshrine the right to kill wildlife. They are like the right wing bat sh– crazy wing nuts popping up all over. They see themselves as survivalist of a dying culture fighting against the tide of a changing civilization.
They need to send themselves over the edge of the cliff in panic hunting mode and inpale themselves on their weapons of mass destruction
This is exactly the kind of power grab we need to block whenever it comes up.
Exactly, Roger, Ted Nugent fan club trying to kill the very last wolf! What they do not get, is if they shoot one wolf over the endangered species act criteria for their state, wolves there go back under BLM andUSFWS protection… at least for now! They may very well bring on the very thing they fear the most and the party like it’s 1899 will be over for them. But the harm is already done for the wolves. Because they, as you know, are not numbers like how many trout you can catch in a day. Wolves are family units that learn over time and share knowledge gained with their young and so on and so on. By trophy hunting wolves, knowledge is lost for generations and actually adds to depradation by the yearlings, if they survive, because they lost the knowledge how to hunt their wild prey. Trophy hunting wolves leads to no good, ever, and never will! It can also lead to coy-wolves due to lack of breeding partners. Deer overbreeding and CWD, which wolves keep under control. Those trophy bucks will get more deformed year after year as hunters remove the best ones from the gene pool, while they do the same to the wolves. The stream banks will erode because of deer hanging around them. The silt will sufficate the fish and other water creatures. Floods will become worse every year. Song birds will leave.
Unfuckingbelievable is right. These people, trophy hunters, must be the biggest fools on the planet, as well as selfish and egotistical and possessive. And all for fame and greed… no wonder they get along so well with the politicians!
