I thought Leonardo did the original? He loved painting animals, especially horses! No one else stands out until Rosa Bonheur’s horse fair paintings captured horses in motion pre photography as accurately. This picture is cute! I would not have thought of using a bear! It works though. 🙂 Usually a patron would be painted into the picture, sometimes a patron’s enemy in a bad way, sometimes, the artist, himself. I have thought of one with Jesus on the cross and an alpha pair of wolves on the other two crosses and Mary sitting on the ground, praying, with a wolf pup in her lap, crying out.
