DENVER — Canadian gray wolves are by all accounts thriving in the Northern Rocky Mountains and Great Lakes region, but getting the wolf’s removal from the Endangered Species List won’t be easy.

Even as children in rural New Mexico take refuge from wolves in “kid cages” at school bus stops, wildlife lovers and environmentalists are fighting tooth and nail the proposal by the Fish and Wildlife Service to delist the species.

  1. I don’t see any Native kids in there, they must be howling behind the cage to get the White kids to wet their pants? Ha-ha! Sure aren’t any Canadian Gray wolves in NM! And the little Mexican Gray Wolves are so timid, being around humans is the last place they will be! How freakin’ stupid can these people get! Must be all those feral rednecks breeding with their cousins for the past 175 years?

      • I’ve heard that, too! And I am over 2000 miles away! You know if they were seriously worried about wolves, chicken wire is NOT going to stop a wolf, or any other apex predator. I see a horse in the background so they don’t feel like they have to protect one horse stuck in a small pen? This is stupidity on parade. Why do I think they are more worried about keeping their guns than the psychological damage being done to their kids?

  2. Mr.Spady should be more concerned with what the people are putting into children’s heads, and the true trauma of putting them in a cage…

    • Of course! These kids will fight phobias all their lives, pawns of the end users of big game hunting! You know, all they had to do is call them weather shelters and no one would have thought twice about it! Here in Maine, some places do have weather shelters. Parents build them at the bus stop out of used items they recycle. I have seen a few that look like a school bus and have plexiglass windows and a light and electric heater on a timer! Those are people who love their kids! I can’t say anything good about the parents who would put their kids in a virtual chicken coop!

  3. Wow! They all look so scared‼ Love the picture of the wolf, is that there so the children know what to be scared of, because they all look so dead intelligent‼

  4. The Washington Times, until recently owned by Sun Myung Moon (whose followers are the ones called Moonies), is renowned for its right wing slant. And its a perfect fit for a story that conflates wolves with an overbearing government. (and the loss of accuracy in reporting being collateral damage )

  5. What will they do with all those “wolf shelters” when all the wolves are gone, turn them into out houses?

I have a greater fear of narrow minded idiots like these people than I do wolves or any other animal for that matter.

    W. T. F.?!?!

  6. Wow, these idiots worry more about wolves instead of real threats like chomos. American society really is on the short bus.
