Predator derbys are a shame to this great nation. We made a mistake with Wolves before and now we are doing it again. Have we learned nothing from our past? Don’t let a small minorty decide the fate of America’s wild predators.

That’s Salmon, Idaho, not Salmod….
What a disgrace this is!
How IGNORANT and how OFFENSIVE to those of us intelligent people who have compassion for other living things.
They need to change the date, too… to 1800s! If it were east coast I would say 1630s because that is how long the Wolf People have been on the genocide list of the second generation of white men from England! When I say ‘Wolf People’, that is how the Native American People spoke and continue to speak of them here. In the 1600s and far earlier, the Native People knew that there was no machine that would bring a creature back to life. No magic device these English had could bring back the dead. Though they had many ways to make war and kill and torture the innocents! They left a trail of dead Wolves and Indians as they marched ever westward, left to rot like so much garbage. Other creatures were slaughtered as well, pretty much everything unlucky enough to cross their path was killed or stolen. They were not pioneers and frontier’s men, they were thieving pirates and murderers, with very few exception. It is not racism or species discrimination, it is self-serving genocide for pure GREED! That is a matter for future historians to write about, if there is a future?
Earlier, I said that we called Wolves ‘Wolf People’. Way before the contact, Native Americans understood ‘personhood’ for creatures, not just humans! We had things from nature to heal wounds and ease pain. But we were thought of as heathens and a backward people. We learned how to live by observing nature, the Wolf People taught us how to live, love, raise our young responsibly, be a community and communicate and cooperate and as a last result, make war if necessary.
For all those things, they became our Spirit Guardians and lifeway teachers. Not all Native American People know these things. There is a disconnect, knowledge was lost. People learned about greed and selfishness and were taught to be ashamed of their language and customs in the ‘Indian Schools’. Some don’t know respect for creatures now, some see only fur dollars. This is part of the great sadness, seeing this sickness of mind.
This poster, like a photo, speaks volumns on that sickness of mind, lack of heart and spirit, that is a virtual hole in the person, so afflicted with this emptiness. Their sick minds tell them to fill the hole but without a heart or knowledge of the sentient beings they murder for fur, they see only greed. For evolved Peoples, seeing blood makes for great sadness in the death of this poor creature, for no good reason. For those with this sickness of mind, blood fills the ‘hole’ where their heart should be, the lust for blood is like any addiction. How many times have you heard ‘drunk with blood lust’? Some may be able to change with help, but again, as with any addiction, they have to want to change. Others were born heartless. As we know, here, psychopaths can’t be cured. The difference is those who are ‘followers’, have chosen the wrong path, someplace, under all that junk in their lives is still a child, born innocent and good. One who followed the wrong path, the wrong leaders. Someone or some event in life broke their heart and confused their mind and spirit. What they need to change is a safe and loving community that can teach them the good path. That killing animals is wrong unless it is out of mercy for them. Eating any creature with a face is wrong unless it died by accident, then it should not be wasted, instead, it should be given to a soup kitchen for the poor or a Wolf Sanctuary. Thanks must be given to it’s spirit for this gift.
Do not turn away those who are curious of our chosen path. Invite them in to sit by your fire. Listen to their stories. Take the time to teach them how to live without the stench of death seeping from their pours. Teach love and community and how to be a part of something. And to work for the good of all creatures.
This is the only way change happens that does not involve killing of creatures and people. All of those who participate in these warped round-ups for a prize have a few who are not evil by nature. Some are lost and broken hearted and desperately ‘filling holes’ in their broken heart with money, fame and false friends, at the cost of innocent creature’s lives. Then there are those who do it for the thrill of killing. They don’t need the money or the fame, they are addicted to excitement in the form of feeling the life and heat leave the body of their victims. Pure evil in it’s simplest form. For them, there is no mercy, here or when they meet their end. The are neither creatures, nor man. Just the shell of the embodiment of evil.
I hope children are not allowed to attend this event, should it not be prevented. Anyone who brings an innocent child to this event should know that this child will someday have to take care of them when they are old! The most important thing a parent does is to raise a child with love for ALL creatures and a merciful heart.
Karma may come to those parents who raise a heartless child in the form of coming to a bad end at the hand of a greedy, selfish adult child?
As the folk song goes…’when will they ever learn?’
