1st Annual Coyote and Wolf-Hunter Derby!

Whereas sport hunters in Idaho are currently holding a contest hunt on not only coyotes but also this year on an until-recently endangered species—gray wolves—with $1,000.00 cash prizes being awarded for the most coyotes and the largest wolf killed; Whereas a federal court judge denied an injunction by environmental groups to stop the killing and allowed the misguided atrocity to proceed; Whereas it seems anyone who wants to can declare a derby hunt on any species they see fit; Whereas turn-about is fair play and two can play at that game, we proudly announce the…

  1. It is alternative universe, bat sh– crazy, redneck thinking to make a contest out of killing these predators, and these contest are spreading. It shows just what a sick mindset these hunters have, and callousness toward wildlife and toward wolves and coyotes in particular. The good news, I hope, is that the Idaho killing contest is not likely to kill many if any. It does show loud and clear why wolf management should not be in the hands of the state and basically managed by hunters and ranchers and mostly right wing hicks and their ilk in the state wildlife agencies. Don’t forget the sneaky politics of wolf delisting in Montana and Idaho: Senator Jon Tester (Farmer, Dixiecrat (states rights over federal), Pork Barrel politician)) and Representative Mike Simpson (R) of Idaho attached a rider to a defense appropriations bill in April of 2011 delisting the wolf in those two states, completely undermining the ESA, opening up a Pandora’s Box of potential political management of species, which is what is going on in ID, MT, WY, WI. This kind of behavior brutalizes us as a society. That our society allows and even condones such behavior shows how civilized we are not. It is a problem of society at large, not just the barbaric perpetrators. It shows a lack of understanding of ecology with wolves having a trophic positive cascading effect on wilderness with man being mostly destructive and farming game animals and minimizing or marginalizing predators.

    • I want Cody Brizendine brought up on charges for threatening my wolf loving life with a “Careful. Or you’ll see the wrong end of a Glock .40” also he said “Well bring it you stupid bitch. You’ll end up like your wolves out here’ and “I’ll send ya a pic of the wolf I kill “. He told me to come meet his friends I told him come meet mine!

      • I can’t believe you would allow such a barbaric event! Then Hire a gun to go kill more that’s just sick!! Is there no law down there at all?

      • I will not visit your state ever again nor will I buy anything from your state ever again, anyone that cruel to wolves are horrible people.

  3. I have always been repulsed by guns, but the opportunity to hunt a hunter has my trigger finger itching. And only 20 bucks to sign up? Talk about a bargain!

  4. Friggin disgusting damn assholes! Its gona be a pretty ugly world when they hunt the last animal to extinction. How bout puttin these kind of small minded people in the wilderness with no food, shelter, or any way to fight off the animals out there. See how they like being hunted with no way to defend themselves.

  5. I don’t want to kill them, I want them to suffer financial ruin! The very worst thing you can do to them is look at what they spend money on. Then figure out how to destroy it. And foil the hunt, too! To keep them all occupied, do a hot pepper eating contest. With a $100 prize for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place. Set up a table with 3 lb. Restaurant Chili Peppers in a can and a pitcher of cold beer and a mug at each seat. The buzzer starts the contest. None can stop eating peppers to drink beer or they are out. The first one to either finish the chilis and not touch the beer until the judge checked that his chili can is empty, wins. Should nobody finish the chilies then the remaining chilis will be counted. The one who ate the most before drinking, wins. Count the rest and in order of who are the mosr to the least without dring will get prizes, the others get free beer. None of these guy’s will be doing any wolf hunting! While the contest is happening all eyes will be watching what stupid people will do for a free beer! Everyone but those foiling the hunt! 🙂

  6. this is inhumane and without a purpose … or should we say the purpose is for them to be left with more deer to hunt? who are the beasts here?

  7. I’m thinking that the rodent population will explode due to lack of predators, and a HANTA virus epidemic will clean out the red neck population in Idaho. Yay

  8. I’m in! Wolf hunters are a bunch of cowards! Actually, they’re worse than cowards; they’re pathetic excuses for human beings! And I would love to hunt me some cowardly pathetic excuses for human beings!
