Hundreds of killing contests have taken place all over the USA…Here is a description of a killing contest that just happened in Michigan — This pic and the description are on a public forum.

What is a “tagged coyote”? A tagged coyote is one that was previously trapped, marked in some way and then released, and killed for a prize.

“Just a few weeks ago the “Call of the Wild” Predator Round Up was held near our cabin in Luzerne Michigan. The hunt began at 7:00 p.m. Friday night and ran till 12 noon Sunday. Seventy three (73) hunters signed up comprising 33 different teams. Several teams used coyote dogs and others worked various “sets” while calling. The hunters with the dogs had the advantage, but the first “yote” turned in was by a father and son team who called the 29.7 pound female within range of a flat shooting 223” …..
“Ma Deeters (local bar/restaurant) was the starting point of the hunt, and the Best Hardware store was where the successful hunters displayed their success. There were around $1700.00 dollars in prizes with anyone bringing in a tagged coyote receiving a $1000.00 dollar bonus. Knight and Hale (game calls) donated many of the prizes handed out. First coyote, biggest, (41 pounds) ugliest, and longest awards were all given out at the culmination of the hunt. Two of the dog teams garnered most of the awards.
On Sunday afternoon there were eleven (11) coyote and one fox hanging on the game pole at the hardware store. There was an additional prize to any team that brought in the “trifecta” of predator hunting (a coyote, fox, and bobcat.) No one collected that award this year, but one team came close.”

  1. It’s time to start hanging the ugliest, fattest, and toothless hunters…and collect prizes, while having a pissing contest ON them

    • Absolutely. For a minute there I thought they WERE giving a prize to the ugliest hunter. It would be very hard to pick a winner I suppose.

    • Yes it is this is so dam sad there are far too many ugly terrible humans who partake in this ,this trash should fear the day animals take revenge
      God don’t like ugly

    • YEP!! Funny they’d call any of these beautiful animals “ugly”…. it’s not so much the pot calling the kettle black, it’s the pot calling the kettle a pot. These people are the ugliest and dumbest people on earth and not only the most useless life forms on this planet, but the most senselessly destructive ones. Our earth is better off without them. The beautiful, magnificent, innocent life they murder in cold blood is worth SO much more than any of these useless monsters.

      • Gee-this is just what I was thinking. Hunters are monsters ugly and creepy and they are lurking in every corner killing off the beautiful-Yes wouldn’t it be a better earth if they did not exist.

    • This enrages and disgusts me to no end, the fact that these ignorant and sickening idiots are a part of our race. But my question is, what can we do to stop this nonsense? Protesting and petitioning is always an option, but what is really going to get the message in their thick, brainless heads? They refuse to take people who have empathy and care about the lives of these innocent animals seriously, and they brush us off like we’re flies. I want to be able to help these animals and defend them, but sometimes it feels like a lost cause, because of all the determination and the stupidity that people such as these posses. Growing up in southern Indiana my entire life, I have tried and tried to tell people that what they are doing is demented and wrong, only to be laughed at and called a “stupid liberal”, who “ain’t got no respect for God and ain’t got a damn bit of sense,”. As if God really wants people to destroy his creations and play his role in “controlling the ecosystem”. I wish there was a method that we could use to truly, entirely, get into their heads, but how do we do it? What can we do to make them realize that they are wrong? I’m all for respecting someone’s lifestyle, but when it causes another individual pain and doesn’t allow them to live their life as it should be(animals included), then that’s when I disprove.

  2. What is a “tagged coyote”? A tagged coyote is one that was previously trapped, marked in some way and then released, and killed for a prize.

We humans are really something. We take an activity that is unfair to begin with, and make it even more perverse and unfair. A prize for the ‘ugliest’ coyote? I’d like to see their wives and Clementine daughters. I bet they’re really ugly.

    • Unfair?
I am not sure the adjective encompasses the actual pain and suffering imposed upon another living animal.
Most commentors understand that the behavior of the humans involved in coyote killing for “sport” or “fun”, is sociopathic. We know that in ALL known cases of antisocial personality disorder, there was evidence of childhood persecution and pain infliction on animals.
No matter what the excuse, every rationale expressed by those who hunt to kill that which they do not eat, conforms to this deadly sociopathic behavioral presentation.
By allowing this behavior, a society promotes the very lethal aberrances which we so decry when it is finally turned upon members of our own species.

In nature, we know that the Gray Wolf limits Coyote population, through behavioral change as well as predation. The wolf can be effective in reestablishing ecological balance.
Humans are not predators, but omnivores with a population at present released from healthy ecological balance. Predator populations have repeatedly been shown in scientific study to self-limit. Our persecution and infliction of pain and death cannot and will not do well to the environment.
Without Coyote, Hawk, Rattlesnake, we experience explosions of rodents and other species which carry diseases which can themselves explode into grave problems. Hantavirus, for instance, is one. Tick-borne and flea-borne diseases, including Plague, have resulted from the loss of predators like coyote and wolf – themselves consistently extirpated by white America.

So, it is clear that this particular culture has no intellectual or natural understanding of the effects of its misguided killing. This killing is merely a way for us primates to violently express our social frustrations upon species which cannot harm us, instead of dealing properly with our own social problems.
Coyotes have reoccupied some territory to which great numbers of humans have immigrated, in such ways as to show that the coyote is rather more intelligent and resilient than the human.

      • Fair would be teaching Coyotes how to use guns and laying traps for hunters.

      • un·fair

        adjective

        1.

not fair; not conforming to approved standards, as of justice, honesty, or ethics: an unfair law; an unfair wage policy.

        2.

disproportionate; undue; beyond what is proper or fitting: an unfair share.

Of course, it goes without saying that there is extreme pain and suffering. I was speaking in the sense of human ethics, or lack thereof. Please don’t limit it to psychopaths. Even those who don’t conform to the definition of psychopath have very little empathy for the pain and suffering of creatures other than human, as it is what humanity has been taught, for ages. Even those who claim not to be religious still, I believe, carry the remnants of these teachings with them.

  3. This is legal. This is America. This is 2014.

I will spend the remainder of my life working to change the laws that not only allow this to happen, but promote these killing contests.

    • But then there are people like you, and CreekwaterWoman, Idalupine and Jim, who make me proud to be human.

      • True and thank you. But honestly Karen, I feel as though we are outnumbered. These psychos are killing our wildlife with nary a care and one day, all the wildlife will be gone and then what?

    • Don’t be ashamed to be human, the things which do this are not “human” and they are a very small (but vocal) percentage of the population.

Don’t get sad, get angry – then get motivated – make calls, write letters – sign petitions – join a group.- and help stop this.

  5. I want to send this to Miller brewing PR because I know that this company wouldn’t want to be advertised or affiliated with violence on this scale. Coming from a beer loving wisconsin native.

  6. So sad to see this !! All for fun and $ ! Humans are disgusting !!!! I will like to shot all those hunters and whoever is doing this !!! STOP THIS CRUELTY !!!!!!

  7. Why would anyone make killing anything a game?? Why would you put money on the ugliest??? There are no ugly animals only ugly, sick, mean, hunters who trap and gang up on these poor animals !!! To hunt for food humanly is on thing to gang up and trap is in no way human!!

  8. This is not the only culling of any animal in US that happens every day. If allowed to continue I can see one day the culling of humans. Getting rid of those not productive or sick or old. Maybe even contests such as these. Our humanity is measured by how humane we are not how inhumane. If I say something to the ones that kill like this they laugh at me. To not stoop to useless killing of animals makes me not the norm in the South. I’m afraid for our future generations and what the future holds for them. If any animal becomes too abundant then sterilization is the key not mass killing. Humans are the only species that has the right to overpopulate. Yeah right.

  9. It’s disgusting that people hunt and kill any wild animals they were here before us we don’t own this planet we are only renting it

  10. I live in Michigan and am totally disgusted with these kinds of events. If there is anything I can do to help prevent these kinds if things, please let me know. I posted a comment on Ma Deeters Facebook site and emailed Best Hardware.

  11. Makes no sense to me that there are these kind of hunts! For what?? Its all for sport and nothing else… its sickening!

  12. The thing to do is send a email to Inbev(Budwiser owner} and Miller telling them that your going to boycott their products because their name is on the poster and they weren’t sponsors
