Jeez – Rare White Deer Hunt = Must Destroy Anything and Everything Beautiful in This World. That’s got to be the limit.
That’s what it says to me anyway. I don’t get the connection between Beautiful Animal and Must Kill It.
I am 67 years old and in my lifetime I have never seen such disregard for human and animal life. All I hear about is killing. Geese, Swans,Deer, Squirrels, Crows, Blackbirds, Starlings, Prairie Dogs, Wolves, Horses, etc.. Now a zoo in Denmark has killed a baby giraffe and feed it to Lions in front of children!
The same Lions that ate the baby giraffe were euthanized so as to make room for a new Lion. What in the world is going on?
That’s the question.
Many wonder the same thing. Some of us think that as our human population continues to explode, as we crowd each other, become more angry, frustrated, worried, stressed, we are increasingly acting out upon those who cannot fight back. We are seeing a longing for so-called “traditional” ways of life, a manic nostalgia for something that really never was–except it was a less crowded world. Homo sapiens was killing others very early on in evolution, and it is now getting worse. We are insane, and our society is increasingly sociopathic. Why else would we torture, maim & kill the innocents?
‘We are seeing a longing for so-called “traditional” ways of life, a manic nostalgia for something that really never was–except it was a less crowded world.’
I’ve thought that same thing many times. The only reason human life ever seemed to be in any kind of harmony with nature is that there were a LOT fewer of the hominids. There’s no way an ever-growing population of humans can hope to be sustainable.
Agreed.
The only reason human life ever seemed to be in any kind of harmony with nature is that there were a LOT fewer of the hominids.
Totally agree and have wondered about the same thing.
It’s true
Why can’t I put any of your photos or articles on my twitter site? How can I share information? Thanks

A Tundra Swan hunt? I had to do a double take because in NY, they want to kill the mute swans off, calling them an invasive species that displace native birds. Now they want to kill a native swan that just recovered from Endangered status in 2009? Kill the displacers and the displacees too? Aren’t these birds protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act? Why is it so easy for us to get exemptions from and circumvent laws?
God, we are terrible creatures – I think it’s right on the money to say that because there are so many of us in today’s world, we have become angry, frustrated and stressed, impatient, entitled and grabbing for ourselves, and take it out on the innocents. Does our society think that is a release valve for our ineptness? Just out in public, you can see rudeness is the name of the game and politeness and being courteous and civil to each other has gone out the window. Just the opposite of what you’d expect in order to get along in an overpopulated world.
Who the hell would hunt swans? They were almost extinct in the wild for most of the 20th century!
Who the hell would hunt swans?
It does sound like the antithesis to peace and harmony, doesn’t it?

And look at the body language of that poor wolf in the trap with the sadist crouching behind him. Pure pain and misery. (Yes, I’m examining each of these examples one by one.)
