Undated (KELO-AM) Animal rights groups are shocked by reports of traps in the Black Hills being baited with live cats.
State game officials have heard from hikers that have stumbled upon traps baited with small cats.
Sheri Kosel with South Dakotans Against Animal Cruelty says she was shocked and then disgusted by the stories. Kosel says there may be a loophole on traps in South Dakota’s first animal cruelty law passed by the legislature this year.
State Game officials and trapping groups are now both calling for a ban on baiting traps with live animals in South Dakota. Kosel says closing the loophole or a separate outright ban would be alright with her.

Whaaat? Interfere with these pathological killers’ fun and games? Where is our sense of brotherhood?
Honestly, I hate to think I share the same planet with people so deformed and depraved in heart and psyche. Why the hell do we tolerate this? In whose sick mind is torture a good thing for anyone?
We wouldn’t want to give trapping a bad name, now would we. Thanks for this link, I wish I’d seen one of these videos before I came across the first animals I found stuck in traps–it would have saved them a lot of pain and suffering.
I thought I had heard it all, but this is a new level of depravity from trappers. I wonder how much of this goes on elsewhere that has not been reported.
It seems like every week someone is taking depravity to a new depth.
