I thought these barbaric traps were already outlawed!! Anyone who continues to buy, sell or even USE them should be fully prosecuted, with their vehicles impounded & all traps destroyed! It is indefensible and has already hurt too many animals and even children!!

This video just illustrates what a joke it is to think that most people could save their dog. I understand the reason that we are advised to keep our dogs leashed, but I resent the hell out of it. That’s not why I go hiking, and that’s not my preferred use of public lands. I believe that MY use should prevail over the psycho killers’ use, which means get these torturing and killing devices off all public lands. I am concerned about every creature that is caught and killed, not just domestic dogs. All of it sickens me.
I attended a wolf trapping class in Idaho to see what kind of monsters engage in this stuff. There was a wide array of snares and traps of all sizes and brands, and I didn’t have the upper body strength to release any of the traps. I was advised that I could carry “trap setters” with me, which are basically metal rods with tips that fit into the sides of traps to pry the jaws open. However, they are size and brand-specific, so one would need a whole toolkit. It seemed completely hopeless.
If you do not engage in recreational or commercial torture (=trapping), then you — like me — have been hung out to dry. And to benefit whom? It benefits the tiny minority of the population who suffers from extreme mental illness such that they are aroused and gratified by the infliction of suffering. I put them in the same contemptible category as child molesters.

It’s actually a slight improvement over the previous version, which was terrifically helpful if your stuffed animal happened to scamper off during a hike and got caught in a trap or snare.
