Dan Ashe, the director of the USFWS, recently stated in a small round table discussion “that he sees a “giant clash” between those who favor conservation and those who favor economic development and that he believes that conservationists “must accept a world with fewer wolves, salmon, and spotted owls.” The Director of the very agency most responsible for protecting the nation’s biodiversity went on to say that, in the name of compromise, we must accept “a world with less biodiversity.”……H. What an incredible statement from a man whose responsibility it is to “conserve the nature of America”. That is the mission statement plastered on the front page of the USFWS website. Yet the director of this agency thinks we need less biodiversity? Of course I’m not surprised he said this because he’s pushing to delist wolves nationally.

Exposing the Big Game 
Ashe is being Ashe, a carer bureaucrat more in tune with political management of wildlife than scientific management. He already has shown this with wolves. He is not a real advocate for wildlife that I can see. He falls and fails on the political side. He also lacks vision and leadership. The next big, evolutionary, revolutionary steps are learning to live with wildlife, accommodating it it as we farm, drill, hunt. USDA Wildlife Services, state wildlife agencies, and maybe even USFWS is not working enough for wildlife and is too aligned with ranchers, sportsmen, conservative politicians.
All should join the tweetstorm. When wild ponies, owls, wolves, mountain lions, bears and other animals are gone, and instead we see cows, sheep and oil drills, how will we explain that to future generations?
Wildlife conservationists need to advocate for his retirement
If even 50% of the human race (preferably all our ruthless brutes) could become sterile by some miracle it would go a long way towards solving these problems. As long as our population grows, these atrocities will be stated and implemented.
