An Alabama paper, the Gadsden Times, reported the other day that a goose hunter was critically wounded by friendly fire. Apparently the victim and his buddy were both carrying loaded shotguns when his buddy slipped and hit him point blank in the side.
They followed that article up with news that there would be a roadblock set up to collect donations to help offset the victim’s hospital costs.
My first reaction mirrored that of a Facebook friend who succinctly commented, “Un-fucking-believable.” The nerve of stopping everyone on the highway to ask that they fund a hunter’s recovery from a hunting accident!
Then the thought came to me: two can play at that game.
I propose we set up road-blocks—everywhere there is hunting going on—to collect funds for the wildlife victims of hunting. Whenever a goose is winged by a shotgun blast, a deer is crippled by an arrow, a bear escapes on three legs from a shoulder wound or an animal is found struggling in a trap, hunters would have to pay for their rehabilitation and return to the wild.
I guarantee if hunters had to put their money where their mouths are, it would cut down on the prolonged animal suffering inherent in the sport of hunting.
Exposing the Big Game 
I truly pray all of these hurt and injured hunters die in agony so they can BURN IN HELL where they belong.
I’d love to be detained at a roadblock set up to collect funds for an injured hunter. The person doing the collecting might get a face full of spit or perhaps pepper spray, depending on my mood at any given moment. If I happened to be on my best behavior, the collector could expect a polite “Fuck NO.”

ahhh…but ALABAMA just recently made it law that ANYONE assisting, helping, aiding any wild animal, adult or baby, WILL BE CHARGED with a CRIME. It is ILLEGAL in Alabama to help any wildlife whatsoever..People in Alabama are supposed to IMMEDIATELY take any wild animal species to “KILL CENTERS” for disposal. Just FYI what your U.S. politicians APPROVE and you let get away with.

What? Showing compassion for other living beings is now illegal in Alabama? WTF is wrong with this culture?
Talk about highway robbery! Sheesh, we really are headed back to the 1800s if the highwaymen are holding up travelers again.
I have to ask, what happened to the doe in the picture?
She was actually one of the only cases I know of that a deer was rehabilitated. The arrow was removed and she lived

Excellent idea, Jim! And when they start calling us “radicals” or “extremists” (and we know they will), we need to put the extremism right back on their shoulders, where it belongs. We cannot allow these twisted sociopaths to keep defining us. THEY are the ones who are abnormal!
Roadblocks were their idea to begin with.
