Wisconsin DNR Wolf “Harvest”
It’s bad enough 91 wolves have been slaughtered in Wisconsin since October 15 (just five days) but notice Wisconsin trophy hunters are going over legal limits of killing wolves. In Zone 1 by 5 wolves and in Zone 2 by 14 wolves. Is the DNR ignoring what amounts to poaching of wolves by not monitoring the hunt closely and letting hunters kill wolves with impunity?
Please flood their lines and ask why hunters have been allowed to go over the legal hunting limit in Zone 2 by 14 wolves and Zone 1 by 5 wolves. Do they care?

I also asked if they were going to reduce the quota in the open zone by the 19 that were killed over the limit in zone one and two
what a disgusting event
Wisconsin Barbarians
Trapping and shooting animals is inherently cruel and barbaric. Trapped animals and wounded (shot) animals feel the same as us, terrified and tortured. In the case of wolves, animals equal to if not superior to us in social connectedness, it is horrendous . Wolves have been known to stand by mates or pack members jeopardizing and even losing their own lives; known to return to the place of a fallen loved one over and over; and packs are known to disintegrate after the loss of an alpha male or female. It is human arrogance and self-centeredness to think that we have a monopoly on emotional and physical pain and intelligence and consciousness (sentient existence) as trappers and hunters evidently do, but not just trappers. I have talked to religious people who are offended at the idea of sentient wolves or other animals. Wolves, for example, also plan, have foresight, and execute plans. They play, use teamwork, nurture for and protect each other and their young. Hunters and trappers treat wolves and other targets as objects, as renewable recreational and profitable opportunities. Who is the superior animal? I have my opinion which you can probably guess.

Wolves do not purchase hunting licenses, and most state wildlife managers draw their pay from revenue derived from sale of hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses. That, in brief, is what is wrong with wildlife management in America….Ted Williams, 1986
“Whenever and wherever men have engaged in the mindless slaughter of animals (including other men), they have often attempted to justify their acts by attributing the most vicious or revolting qualities to those they would destroy; and the less reason there is for the slaughter, the greater the campaign for vilification.”
― Farley Mowat, naturalist, conservationist and author of Never Cry Wolf
The only control needed in Wisconson is that of the hunters themselves. As so eloquently put forth in the above commentaries, we do in fact share similar characteristics with wolves in general. The primary difference is that the wolf hunts to survive, as opposed to humans hunting and killing for pleasure. Beyond that, the transparency of the hunter praising himself for killing a worthy opponent, when in fact; it amounts to nothing more than murdering a defenseless being who loves, feels the relentless pain of a piercing firearm, and dies in agony knowing the loss of loved ones. It is disgusting to even think that rational people are allowing this to continue.
