Aside from being killed and skinned, how many snakes will be eating the unfortunate animals sold from pet stores (animals who don’t stand a chance of escaping from the snake cage), and how many of the snakes will be turned loose like the pythons in the South. One was recently found by the side of US 70 in South Carolina. Irresponsible people who think it is clever or macho to get such “pets” and then dump them when they get inconvenient and sellers who can make a buck keep the trade going. Legislators are reluctant to ban anything that constitutes a sale of come kind.
