• George Monbiot: It’s time to shout stop on this war on the living world
Species across land, rivers and seas decimated as humans kill for food in unsustainable numbers and destroy habitats

The arrogant top-of-the chain species, going on to 9 billion, could destroy other creatures who have evolved and lived on this earth much longer than we have. But most of our species will deny, keep destroying, and employ political correctness to bully dissenters into submission.
Denial (or at least downplaying) is getting more and more popular these days…
Our consumption is trashing a natural world infinitely more fascinating and intricate than the stuff we produce.
Economic growth in a country whose primary and secondary needs have already been met means developing ever more useless stuff to meet ever fainter desires.
I think about this a lot too. I’m trying to use less and less stuff that I really do not need.
quotes are from the wonderful George Monbiot article.
