  1. That is so sad. I’m sure most people cannot even imagine what fighting these horrendous fires is like, especially with temperatures in the upper 90s and triple digits. Since I live in the area, I see a lot of news coverage, and it seems that we just don’t have the amount of equipment we need in the form of helicopters and tankers for fire retardant and water drops. In California apparently people fooling around with drones have interfered with the use aircraft. How much worse do things have to get before those in charge start paying attention to the drought and the fires and starting gearing up to do the job? We need a lot more funding directed to fire fighting.

  2. Increasing numbers of people criticize the use of fire retardant on these fires, because of the chemicals. I feel so bad for the wildlife, including birds. This year is now the hottest on record, and next year will most likely top this year. Here in NM we have been very lucky this year, but no telling what next spring will be like.
