BREAKING: The US House of Representatives just voted to pass H.R.2494, the Global Anti-#Poaching Act. Special thanks to House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce and Ranking Member Eliot Engel for introducing the Act and championing it through to a vote. Building off the momentum from the Enough Project’s event on the Hill last week, this act is a crucial step in the effort to break the links between wildlife trafficking networks and mass atrocities. This is an incredible victory, and one YOU made happen! This is truly Justice For Cecil The Lion!
T hank God once in a while animals win not often but I hope for more so animals could live in peace
This is wonderful!!!!!
I’m delighted but also astonished that this victory came out of the House of Representatives.
This is NOT the Cecil Act (Conserving Ecosystems by Ceasing the Importation of Large (CECIL) Animal Trophies Act). The Cecil Act targets trophy hunters. Everyone is getting the wrong message. The Cecil Act is still a work in progress and won’t come to fruition (hopefully) until 2016. Please change the heading & the photo. Maybe an elephant or a rhino would be more appropriate. This is the Global Anti-poaching Act. Please make the correction so that everyone will continue to fight for the CECIL ACT and not drop the ball on this thinking we’ve won! Thank you.
