YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. — One of only three white wolves roaming Yellowstone National Park has been put down by park staff after it was found with severe injuries.
P.J. White of the National Park Service says hikers found the female wolf Tuesday on the north side of the park.
White says the wolf was in shock and dying, leading to the decision to euthanize it and investigate what caused the injuries. The nature of the animal’s injuries could not immediately be determined.
The predator was one of three known white wolves in the park.
It had lived to 12 years old, twice the age of an average wolf in the park, and was one of the most recognizable and sought after to view and photograph by park visitors.
I wonder why they aren’t saying how she was injured? Because it was human-caused, no doubt. They mention Wyoming and that may be all we need to know about what happened. F**kin’ scumbags. Surely they must know if was by a gunshot, or maybe from hunting an elk or bison. I wish either way they’d say so that the idiots can become edumacated.
I feel the same anger.
It’s difficult not to be upset by the scourge of 8 billion. Maybe the hikers found her in a snare or trap? They mentioned trauma, so I hope it was through a natural hunting injury or pack dynamics. I hope they’ll say. I’m sure she left her beautiful genes after her.
Or rival pack dynamics, I should say. Where it happened inside the Park, it’s more likely to be a natural occurrence, but you never know I suppose. It’s odd that the reason isn’t mentioned.
Some demented sadistic two legged killer parasite did it no doubt!
Doubtless.
It’s hard not to jump to conclusions and assume she ran into a human. I’m waiting for a report and if they will release one. The wolves don’t have a of friends in that area, any more than the bison do.
Obviously the Park Services are playing dumb over the cause of the injuries. Why?
They probably don’t want to start controversy…
