A South African safari leader and big game hunter was crushed to death Friday afternoon when an elephant was shot and fell and on top of him.
Theunis Botha, 51, was hunting with a group in Gwai, Zimbabwe, when they came across a breeding herd of elephants.
They quickly began to shoot, according to News 24, spooking the animals and causing the elephants to charge at the hunters.
Theunis Botha (pictured right with his wife, Carika), 51, was hunting with a group in Gwai, Zimbabwe, when they came across a breeding herd of elephants
One of the elephants is then said to have picked up Botha with its trunk.
A member of his group shot the elephant, hoping it would put Botha down. Instead, the wounded and dying animal fell on top of him, crushing him to death.

well that is what happens when you are cruel to animals
The elephants are learning to fight back the enemy. Good for them! Herding for safety in numbers. Hunting is inherently risky.
What was it the NRA said in their latest ‘communique’?
“These activists want to “suppress your most natural connection to the earth,” the narrator in one video states, and “ignore that death is life’s unwavering partner.””
He probably thinks this applies to all but humans. Guess not!
I think so too. At least I hope so.
How many elephants were killed when all was said and done? It only mentions the one that karma saw fit to steer in this man’s direction. But the entire hunting group, the articles says, kept shooting into the herd. What a waste. So much for big game hunting and the preservation of species!
This was a three-fer. A trophy hunter, a houndhunter, and a recruiter of rich, empty-headed Americans to come and join in on his killking sprees. Good riddance!
Thank God for small miracles! Good riddance, I hope his ugly murdering soul is dispatched to hell and stays there for eternity!
I tell you what I am going to do, I will keep posting this on FB with cheers! I think a couple of NRA morons are scanning my posts.
Too damn bad any elephants were shot. And how is it legal to shoot into a breeding herd of elephants? I hope Botha suffered great pain before his perfect demise.
