5 things to read about the Yellowstone grizzly delisting
On June 22, the Interior Department announced that the Yellowstone grizzly bear will no longer be listed as an endangered species. The bear has been listed for 42 years, despite multiple efforts to remove Endangered Species Act protections. The move could allow hunting of the grizzly – a decision will be left up to the states.
“This is good news for the Yellowstone grizzly and good news for the region’s ranchers,” Craig Uden, president of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, and Dave Eliason, president of the Public Lands Council, said in a statement.

Once an animal is on the ESL it should never be removed – in this day and age animals are exploited in numerous ways, and now more than ever , they need (and deserve) the continued protection of the ESL, for those it has been protecting for so long. This saddens me, it is just wrong.

I totally agree, especially since those three anti-wildlife states are clamoring to hunt them, and keep all wildlife off the endangered list, and even do away with the endangered list entirely. Yeah, we feel good about turning over vulnerable creatures over to them. Remember these are the states that used the term ‘divvying up’ to describe management of grizzlies when and if they were delisted! So to tell the public there isn’t a rush to hunt is a flat out lie.
This is an article that turned up in many many news outlets:

It’s such an insult to the intelligence.
Why do these articles continually have quotes from the livestock industry praising wildlife delistings? It’s not exactly unbiased, is it, and it inspires zero confidence. Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the Livestock Board. smh
Also, this process was started under the Obama Administration, and to expect a Republican administration to turn it around is not very realistic. Appeasement policies under the Democrats have failed spectacularly, and this is what we are left with today.
