In response to a favorable comment to a post about a goose hunter who shot his 45 year old son in a hunting accident, one Facebook reader replied:
“I find it disheartening that so many anti-hunters take such psychotic joy in the death of human beings…I find this sort of cheerleading just as bad as the hunters that flaunt their kills. Show some compassion for a change.”
To which I responded, “It’s not that anti-hunters don’t have any compassion; just that their limited supply of it is focused on the original victims (in this case the geese). As police reported about the incident, ‘The two had Canadian Geese decoys spread out in front of their blind…’ Yes, this was a tragedy for the hunters…but they were out there to cause pain, suffering and death for an untold number of geese—a gentle species who care…

Exposing the Big Game 
I know that sometimes in our gallows humor we can sound a bit harsh – but it’s just letting off a little steam. (Isn’t that what they said about allowing a wolf hunt? That the killers could vent some of their pent-up resentment, and then all would be hunky dory again?). Didn’t work though.
The latest story about the bullfighter gored in the groin – the Sun had a quite colorful article and the comments were a hoot.
I beg to differ. This isn’t “gallows humor” for me. I find myself in a permanent state of wrath, fueled by the cruel and despicable acts directed against non-human animals by supposedly “civilized” humans that I witness or read about every day. I cannot understand how anybody with a strong sense of justice and honor could be anything other. I long for the day when retribution-in-kind will be the norm, rather than the arbitrary exception, for dealing with the humanoid degenerates that abuse animals.
Sadly, animal abuse is the norm among humanoids.
And that’s why I do not contribute one penny to any human-centered charity. 90-95% of humanity really deserves only the axe. The other 5-10% is all that stands between Homo sapiens being written off as the scourge of the Universe.
and that’s being generous.
