Petition: Fire Cop Who Ordered Man to Cut Off His Dog’s Head!

The horrifying incident began when the sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the Goodwin’s home after a neighbor called to report a dog bite involving Big Boy. While on the scene, Big Boy allegedly charged at the deputy who shot and killed him on the spot. When Goodwin arrived, he and the deputy calmly talked about what happened. The situation was not ideal but it was under control, until the Sheriff’s investigator James Hollis arrived. What started as a series of questions about Big Boy’s vaccination records quickly escalated and turned into the investigator ordering Goodwin’s to cut off Big Boy’s head and for the girlfriend to put the dogs head in a bag and bring it to the health department, he was ordered to do so or he would go to jail. Video footage of the encounter shows Hollis threatening to arrest Goodwin if he dose not comply.

      • Let’s just say, these cops went above and beyond what was necessary, I’m guessing because it was a pitbull and who knows maybe they know the neighbor that was bit. When a dog bites a human you don’t have much protection, but there cruelty towards them was uncalled for and that guy doesn’t realize he’s going to be paying for the testing and personally I would have had their veterinarian take care of that situation, it wouldn’t have cost them that much more and he could have worked out a payment plan with the veterinarian. When a dog bites a human you’re on extremely thin ice, that’s why it’s very important to make sure you have your license and rabies vaccination up-to-date and proof because the police want to see written receipts immediately, so make copies. Also people don’t realize that you need to let your insurance company know you have one, how many and what type of dogs, because some insurance companies will not cover certain breeds and Pitbulls are at the top of the list, so do your homework and check around with insurance companies, God forbid that you ever have to deal with that emotional situation, so have a company that will cover any damages.

  1. I would think it would be a health hazard for an ordinary person, and that the city, town or state would require a vet or medical professional to do it, out of their budget!
