In her Facebook post, Hahn detailed some of the more egregious infractions, writing, “A compilation of the last 3 days in which we find an infinite supply of hovering tourists who in close proximity to the seals and sea lions bring along big dogs, kids with lacrosse sticks, their love at the end of a selfie stick, metal shovels to defend themselves with, and a woman who tells a distraught, pregnant, horrifically harassed Sea Lioness to stop complaining and just go back to sleep.”
Hahn was particularly upset over a woman with a shovel.
“She just had to go right between them,” Hahn told ABC 10 News. “She caused two flushes [in which sea lions feel forced to flee into the ocean]. I didn’t care for that because the females are very pregnant.”

Exposing the Big Game 
Heh. I remember once telling a grown man to knock off harassing the migrating herring and really pissed him off. He thought better of going any further than that tho. 🙂
Another time I questioned whether a guy really wanted to throw his garbage on the ground – and he picked it up, threw it in his car instead, and drove off. 🙂
There need to be barriers up and/or wildlife officials there to stop this. Why do people feel the need to harass and intimidate wildlife?? We are such a foul species.
I think I have read that this is an ongoing thing in La Jolla, as we know, people want to take all of the beaches, and can never share land with anyone, let alone wildlife. There are many videos and reports of people harassing the sea lions in La Jolla.
