A 22-year-old duck hunter was rescued from the water where he was hunting Saturday after he apparently experienced a medical emergency and fell from his boat.

“At the time of the incident, the victim was wearing chest waders which filled up with water. His hunting companion was holding his head out of the water until rescuer’s arrived,” Cache County Sheriff Chad Jensen stated in a weekend press release.

The Weber County man was hunting with a friend in the waters south of State Road 30 in the Petersboro area. When he fell into the water at about 4 p.m., his companion was unable to get him back to the boat without assistance, so he called for help and kept the man safe until help arrived, Jensen stated.
