Alaska hunting policy change is dishonorable
Re “Trump administration moves to end ban on Alaska hunting practices many say are cruel” (May 22): Baiting bears with bacon and doughnuts and shooting mother bears and cubs and mother wolves and pups in their dens does not sound like proper activity in “national preserves” where these creatures are supposed to be protected.
In fact, these are not honorable hunting practices, either. They are, in fact, cowardly and should not be condoned or encouraged by our federal government.
Alaska is big enough that its own laws can take care of the backwoods folks who need to stalk animals for food outside of national parks and forests.

There is no sense of fairness or “sport.” Just killing by any method and means is the name of the game.
