Nonprofit Friends of Animals disclosed last week that the list of 33 permit applicants have been granted such permission since Donald Trump was elected president, the Star Tribune reported. One hunter from the Upper Midwest, Dan Ongna, of Stevens Point, Wis., was among those issued permits, according to Friends of Animals.

What’s even more appalling about trophy hunting is that these people are not content with just one lion or elephant, but they have roomsful of them! One guy had about four or five lions in his ‘trophy room’, and read about Walter Palmer’s trophy room. In times of threatened and diminishing wildlife populations, poaching of ivory for absolutely worthless folk medicine, and 8 billion and counting of us, it is totally unacceptable.
They also IMO just toe the line between legality and poaching by baiting these animals out of the protected national parks, the same as they do in our American national parks. It is not fair chase. Ugly greed and dishonesty on display. And it saddens me that this questionable mantle has been take up now by Americans.
