Good video. But I would add that it affects other living things on the planet as well, we are not the only ones here, or who matter. This always puts it in perspective for me – if by some awful tragic event, half of the world’s population was lost – we’d still have 4 billion people on the planet! I don’t even thing education is the (complete) answer – it’s just how we are programmed, to reproduce, like every other creature on the planet. Sadly, we created religion to glorify ourselves and justify our actions, which other creatures do not do. Most do not even care about other life on the planet, or see any connection to ourselves.
If we do not do something, we will be our own downfall. I am happily child-free, because I think it is a societal brainwashing for many.
Great comment on the connection between human breeding and religion. When I later shed being “born again” (at the tender age of 11) I remember seeing something that helped: “When religion ruled the world, it was called the Dark Ages.” Unfortunately, religion still rules many people, and the religious zealots (like the right -wing fanatics ) see nothing else, know nothing else, and nature is something for Man To Use–Up.
