Two Henderson County men who were bear hunting are facing charges after firing at deputies and resisting arrest, according to deputies.

Deputies were called about 8 p.m. Saturday to the South Mills River Road about someone firing a gun from a truck. The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission was also contacted due to a history of wildlife poaching in that area.

The North Carolina mountain season dates for legal bear hunting are Oct. 15 to Nov. 17 and Dec. 10, 2018 to Jan. 1, 2019, with some additional game land restrictions.

  1. When people like this are locked up, it really is for the best. These are the answer to the naïve who think all people are good at heart, have good intentions and just need to be educated. It looks like the kid on the left got educated about resisting arrest.
