BOISE – Governor C. L. “Butch” Otter announced today that he asked for – and has received – the resignation of Blake Fischer as an Idaho Department of Fish and Game Commissioner. Fisher came under intense criticism for graphic photos taken during an African hunting trip he participated in last month.

“I have high expectations and standards for every appointee in state government,” said Governor Otter. “Every member of my administration is expected to exercise good judgment. Commissioner Fischer did not. Accordingly, I have accepted his resignation from the Idaho Fish and Game Commission.”

  1. It’s great news that this dickhead was fired, but also surprising….Butch Otter is usually no hero when it comes to the slaughter of wildlife.

  2. For as long as I am alive, I will never understand how someone can take the life of an animal and feel good about it, posing and smiling with the deceased animal.

  3. “Anyways, my wife and I went to Namibia for a week . . . first she wanted to watch me and ‘get a feel’ of Africa . . . so I shot a whole family of baboons. I think she got the idea quick.”

    Let’s hope she sent him divorce papers via bow and arrow after this as well! 😦
