A GEOPHYSICIST has offered a chilling warning over the Yellowstone volcano, it was revealed during a bombshell BBC documentary.

Robert Smith is a leading lecturer at the University of Utah, who has years of experience in natural disasters, including his study into Yellowstone. The supervolcano, located in Yellowstone National Park, has erupted three times in history, 2.1 million years ago, 1.2 million years ago and 640,000 years ago. However, a fourth eruption could have dire consequences, according to Dr Smith.

I wish they’d stop being alarmists about this – humanity many be long gone by the time this volcano erupts again, if it does. I have awful visions of authorities blocking all of the hot springs with cement and bricks (not that it would work).
Although I must say, at Yellowstone’s gorgeous turquoise Grand Prismatic hot spring, someone had tossed a lawn chair in the middle of it. Talk about an eyesore. I wonder if it is still there, rusting away – I imagine it was too hot to retrieve. 😉
Like with the BP oil spill in the Gulf, they tried throwing everything but the kitchen sink in to stop it, but to no avail. But I don’t think humanity is going to be around in another few million years anyway.
