Burundi is both the world’s most food insecure nation and the smallest emitter of greenhouse gases per capita

The countries that have done the most to cause climate change are the least likely to go hungry as a result of its escalating impacts.

That’s the conclusion of a startling new study from Christian Aid released today, which reveals that Burundi – the country with the lowest per capita emissions in the world – is also the nation with the highest level of food insecurity and one of the most at risk to climate-related food shocks.
