UPDATE: 2 Michigan hunters confess to killing bald eagle in Manistee
MANISTEE, MI – A bald eagle was shot and later died after a waterfowl hunter mistook it for a goose over the weekend.
The 2-year-old eagle was in the care of Wings of Wonder in Empire when it had to be euthanized on Monday, Oct. 7, because of the severity of its injuries, said Wings of Wonder Executive Director Rebecca Lessard. Both its wings were fractured, and it had multiple gun pellet wounds.
The eagle was shot and checked in at Wings of Wonder on Saturday, Oct. 5.

How can they confuse an eagle with a goose, and why shoot either one?….
It should be a crime to be this stupid, and to carry a gun. 😦
But sadly, ah’s rule the world.
The jails would fill up overnight.
Even on my local news, the news reader quoted the ‘3 Billion Birds Lost Since the 70’s’ story as 3 million! There was no correction of it that I know of either.
That shows how little importance these issues have, to the media and the general public.
I yelled at the TV ‘it’s 3 billion dear, 3 billion!” and my husband said ‘they don’t know, they’re only reading a prompter’. 😦
