Taking a page straight out of the Trump administration’s anti-conservation playbook, late last year the Biden administration quietly pushed forward a plan that would put two of Florida’s most beloved and endangered animals on the fast-track to extinction.
Despite President Biden’s directive that all federal agencies follow the best available science, buried in the administration workplan that sets the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s priorities is a proposal to strip protections for theKey deerand theFlorida panther.
This proposal flouts the undeniable reality that these animals face an escalating loss of habitat that threatens their existence. The best-available scientific information makes clear bothspecies need more protection, not less.

I don’t think this administration has any idea at all about biodiversity.
Also, the Interior is huffing and puffing about leases for offshore windfarms, and I wonder how that is going to work with endangered right whales.
An avalanche of lawsuits.

Most people voted for Biden because he was the only alternative to beating Trump. Unfortunately, many of us who voted for Biden did not have much excitement about him. He apparently is a long-established Politician rooted in corporate politics. We must face the difficult fact that this “democracy” has always been flawed, and is now in severe decline–Rome did not go away easily, and there was much strife, war and rumors of war, & millions of animals died for “entertainment,” not to mentioned environmental destruction as Romans warred and conquered:

I ‘ll bet most of us visiting this blog can feel the impending, severe decline coming.
