BILLINGS, Mont. — Montana wildlife commissioners on Friday moved to shut down gray wolf hunting in a portion of the state around Yellowstone National Park, amid mounting criticism over a record number of the animals shot or trapped after roaming across the park boundary this winter.

Thank goodness it has been stopped. I was worried that during all the hemmng and hawing, even more wolves would be killed.
Here’s an very interesting podcast re Wiconsin and Northern Rockies out of control wolf killings, with input from the Indigenous people who oppose it. It’s a bit tough to take in the beginning, hearing from hunters who took part in the WI wolf hunt, but worth a listen:
