Thank you so much for this wonderful insightful humor–you are the best. I just called a backyard breeder at 505-604-1115, who apparently breeds “Sheepadoodle puppies, female and mail.” I asked the guy why he is breeding these dogs. He did not like my question, especially when I mentioned the thousands of dogs in shelters, as a result of such breeding. When I asked if he had his Breeder Permit # (which is supposed to be part of the newspaper ad-per Santa Fe Animal Ordinance), he said “oh I forgot this time.” After that, he hung up–oh, gosh, he forgot??
I am also sending a letter to the local paper that it is a “Requirement” that the permit # be placed in the ad. We’ll see. If anyone is in the Santa Fe, NM area. please let the Santa Fe New Mexican paper hear from you–they do well on animal issues, and we can applaud them for this–but we need to emphasize this problem. http://www.foranimals.org
