It is no surprise but expected that the Biden administration would abandon wolves in the northern Rockies. So did Obama and all presidents since Clinton. Biden’s Secretary of Interior is a hunter and boasted of it getting nominated. It is a cultural war issue thought to be larger than it is which scares the likes of Biden and Deb Haaland and sways the USFWS. Only around 4 1/2 percent of the nation hunts and even in big hunting states the general population may have favorable attitudes toward wolves. The USFWS has fallen into making political decisions instead of just defending wildlife.
