I have spent some time watching and listening to hunters, mostly in blinds, “managing” wildlife “nuisance animals” like they define coyotes, and “overpopulation” of deer. They, in their stubborn ignorance and delusional self-perceptions, as conservationists, have several excuses/rationalizations for killing wildlife (culling, population control, prevention of human-animal conflicts, killing one species to protect another, protecting pets and livestock). It is just thrill killing colored in palatable (to themselves and the public) terms. However, the main varmints are the Chimpoid Elmer Fudds (aka hunters and trappers) distorting wildlife ecology.
